My Army of Imaginary Friends: Whose blog is this anyway? Feb. 2011
Hello!
I'm a student who is buried beneath a licensing exam, thesis, internship and a job (one that is definitely not my cup of tea). I swear I once had some semblance of a life and even friends . . . that all seems so long ago. SO I have decided to think of the things and people I love, admire, adore, or just think are down right awesome and gather them all together into my only little army.
This sounds a little ridiculous. But sometimes the grasp for sanity IS ridiculous. Here is my grasping!
Also, I have been thinking about how there are some people that I just know I would TOTALLY be friends with if our lives had been on the sort of paths where we became friends. That also sounds crazy, but I think a lot of us think, or thought when we were kids that, "Oh my god if that person (fictional/real) and I hung out we would SO be best friends." Authors, actors, real friends (yes I do have SOME of those), heroes, rock stars, those who are not yet famous to you but are famous to me etc., all people who I think would help rid the world of mind numbing things, or boredom, or lameness, or all the things that prevent us from rolling around in giant puddles of laughter.
So that is who I am, a slightly crazy woman who works with middle schoolers (hence my maturity level), LOVES random things, misses living with some sort of enthusiasm, and therefore has sought out vicarious living as she remains in her hermit state for just a little longer.
That's my story, for now.
Email me if you think you're awesome enough, or odd enough, to be a part of my Army. Let me know why, and I'll consider if you fit in. Heck, these people are WAY cooler than me, so I don't really fit, but it's imaginary and therefore I obviously fit because it's MY imagination.
